i was just thinking to myself earlier today how i haven’t picked up a good book in a while and how, amidst all this madness, i am in dire need of one.

…and then, i chanced upon the David Marshall Trials by Alex Josey three hours ago. yayyyyyy.

The best part of the year is around the corner, with the looming taste of peppermint candy canes and the impending whitewash of the canvas of the year. Oh, how I am very much looking forward to the latter. But first, there are things to be done; spaces to declutter, memories to write, dust to be wiped, a choice to make, a ucas application to complete, an exam to take, a personal statement to write, that 3000-word assignment to nail. The first of many.

The learning curves keep coming. And they are so different now from what I thought were learning curves.

As the sights, smells and sounds of summer which once all collated like the sheets of a book begin to fade away, the reality that is made up of two and a half inch thick text books, articles, journals and cases after cases all begging to be read amongst scraps of paper, and pages after pages of thin-lined foolscap paper which i OCD-ly adore come to the fore. Three weeks into this humdrum, recurrent, soporific, banausic routine, i’m actually beginning to settle into my very own alcove, my cubbyhole, a space which, over the course of the next eight months, will become comfortable, worn-out, familiar…my fingers begin to ache tonight..as it offers me a glimpse into the next eight months which await me. why, hello again, law school.

Didn’t you know that Sunday mornings are for dim sum? This time it was at Imperial Garden @ Intan Square with the family (reminder to self: never go back there again). The service was bad, empty tables were left uncleared for at least an hour, and I can get nicer dim sum in Seremban, apparently.

I am so bad with descriptions haha. I ate so much that Sunday. After brunch, i could still manage a yong tau foo lunch in Ampang. Well, I guess Sundays are now more cherished, considering the fact that I’m in school from Mondays to Saturdays Seremban dim sum soon, yes?

A few (interesting) revelations aside, first day back at school went pretty alright, sans all the trepidation and anticipation and what-have-yous of your typical first day at school. It was good to see them all again; some still as intransigent, most still the same. Some, new to me, are like a freaking corpus juris secundum. Please please please let me get through the next nine months of law school (with everything in between) and emerge unscathed.  …and damn, what am i gonna do for the next one week now that I forgot to get my GG episodes from danny. boy. ):
